Congratulations to Dataman for being the first non-staff member to get 50 posts, thus reaching Forum Member/Clan Member rank.
Stay tuned for announcements regarding Forum Leader promotion later this week. Staff promotions won't occur until the end of the Forum contest on December 15th.

Hate to bump, but I just want to update you all on a recent change.
So that all members will be able to participate in post-rank and to avoid confusion, Forum Leaders, as of today, will no longer automatically receive the Elite banner; this banner will be for members who reach 750+ posts only.
As for staff members, what do you all think about giving them 2 banners: 1 for post rank and 1 for staff group?

3 threads from General Discussion have been moved to The Café. Just a heads up if I wasn't clear when I made the boards: Random topics that don't fit anywhere else should be posted in General & topics about yourself/finding out more about others (height, where you live, etc.) should be posted in the Getting to Know You forum

Yet another update! Congratulations to both Seven and didannl for making it to Forum Member/Clan Member status & an extra special congratulations to Maoyan who is now a Forum Leader While the forum hasn't even been around for a week, Maoyan has played a huge role in helping us with referrals, posts, and threads; not to mention that she was the first member I didn't know. Thanks for all your hard work thus far!

In addition to the contest announcement, I have some other (semi) exiciting news about member promotions! As of right now, Browe is officially a Forum Leader! Thanks for all your help in regards to anime news. We really appreciate it! And to add a little more color to the board, typicalmangafan will now be a Moderator for the Anime sub-forum. Feel free to ask either one of us if you have any questions regarding posts in this section.

So, what exactly is the difference between a Forum Leader and a Moderator?

So, what exactly is the difference between a Forum Leader and a Moderator? I guess the best way to distinguish between the two would be to say that being a Moderator is an active job, while being a Forum Leader is fairly passive. The extent of Forum Leader powers is really editing and deleting posts, which is helpful with double posting and miscounts in the Guys vs Girls threads, but Moderators have the more needed jobs, such as the ability to move boards, warn users, etc. Ideally, if this forum were to get larger, Forum Leaders would be the bridge between the regular members and the Staff, thus giving them some autonomy in decisions regarding member promotion/demotion and providing feedback.
