Hello, all. My name is Stephen, and I found this forum by virtue of being friends with typicalmangafan. I've been into anime for a long time now, even attended a few Anime Expos when I lived in California way back when. My first anime were probably the original DiC and Saban dubs of Sailor Moon & Dragon Ball Z. Today, my favorite series is, without doubt, One Piece. Other series I currently enjoy are Fairy Tail, Liar Game, Tonari no Seki-kun, and Nichijou.
I regularly watch anime with another friend of mine I chat with. Most recently we finished Princess Tutu, and are about a third of the way through Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders.
Outside of anime I'm a huge Doctor Who fan. I've also got a fledgling Let's Play channel on YouTube. I haven't made any big plans or posts on it yet but I'm thinking of focusing on 2D / 2-and-a-half-D platformer games, as they're the ones I feel most excited about playing (they're what I grew up with) and I don't know that there are many Let's Players who focus on them (though I only just thought of this so I haven't done any heavy searching yet).
You can see my first full Let's Play of the game Bleed here.

Hey Stephen! We already have something in common, since I'm also a friend of typicalmangafan haha You should talk to didannl about One Piece, since I know she's a huge fan of the show. Oh, and I've actually had Princess Tutu on my planning to watch list for a while now. I hear it's pretty good. Anyway, nice to meet you & hope you'll enjoy this forum

I really liked it. It reminded me a lot of one of my favorite books, Terry Pratchett's Witches Abroad, as like Tutu it focuses on fairy tales and stories coming to life and how the characters have to respond to that.

Sounds interesting... I'll let you know when I check it out, then. Would you say that it's a good anime for analysis? Someone mentioned it at an Analyzing Anime panel I went to a couple summers ago.

Depends on what you're analyzing. There's definitely a good bit of "Shown Their Work" when it comes to ballet and classical music, from what I've seen/read on TV Tropes. It's not an action-heavy series so there'll be some philosophy (maybe not right word?) and drama to go over, too.

One piece is the best ever! Good luck with your lets play channel, I'm a huge fan of achievement hunter and the occasional game grumps and markiplier. Like seriously I have 3 posters a shirt and a phone case from them.

The one who got me started watching Let's Plays is Jesse Cox back when he started doing vids for World of Warcraft Cataclysm. From there I enjoy others but right now Game Grumps is my favorite, with Jesse a close second depending on game. I've watched Markiplier here and there since my niece introduced me to him. I've enjoyed his Five Nights at Freddy's videos.
