This is a thread, where anyone can put up a song, and tell them their thoughts on it. I will post regardless what others do, if just to have fun, and enjoy my own time. I listen to a lot of music, and think a lot about it. Let's get to it! I am starting with a song by Sonata Arctica!
www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/False-News-Travel-Fast-lyrics-Sonata-Arctica/42666F7C7AEFFD7748256C7C0025DE07 <<- Lyric. Sorry, but I dunno at the moment how to do a fancy way to show lyrics without taking a ton of space.
The song, is a rather dark song. Or rather, tragedic one. I think it can be interpreted two ways. I will show the one I think the least one in first.
1) The song is about him being falsely accused by his lover that he is cheating.
What makes me think that? First off, close to the end, the singer says:

What makes me think that? First off, close to the end, the singer says:
Why do you keep me in the agony?
"The Book of true tales"
How can you hate me and keep me in this agony?
"The Mirror of tragedy"
I haven't lied, I haven't cheated!
"The Book of true tales"
What do you think? What do you see when you look in?
"The Mirror of tragedy"

"The Mirror of tragedy"
he... well, he outright says he haven't cheated.
The more, perhaps kind of sadder interpretation, is a bit more obvious, I think, but perhaps not.
2) He is deluding himself, and after having been caught cheating, he breaks down. He accuses his lover of lying, of accusing him of being bad. I feel like the title of the song "False news travel fast", is an obvious reference to the line in the song, however I think it is also a sarcastic bite to himself. The songs says
"Pleading not guilty. It's in the nature of humankind
Installed in a manchild "
Perhaps, in a moment of self-realization, he says that "lying, and doing all to prove yourself true, it is what we do." and then, referring to himself when he says "manchild". It almost sounds like he is trying to convince the woman (or man, for that matter. Though, other songs refer to a love interests as female, so.. yeh) that he is innocent and she turns a blind eye to him, refusing to listen.
While I think that might be a more "true" scenario, the other one still has some support, such as
"Standing on the station, watching your train slowly disappear (in misty morning)
I'm only shell of a man, I thought you knew who I am... "'.
Or, as I think, perhaps is the most sad, and perhaps even sader a more true interpretation... he f*cked up royally, and as a mistake, he now, in desepration and sadness, tries to convince his lover that he did not mess up, even if that might turn to lies. And, as one of the earlier choruses says.
"Books of true tales, Mirrors of tragedy
Remorseful and pale
as in past, these news travel fast ". It might not be the first time he messed up the relationship of his life...
and maybe not the last time.
I will probably like all the songs I write up here, so might not really be reviews... more like analysis...es? well, the next two songs will also be from Sonata Arctica. "Black Sheep" and "San Sebastian"
