With all the talk of movies lately I want to know what anime you want to see as a live action? Why? What actors would play which character? Want to see a particular storyline or something new? |

Nice thread.  I'm not a big fan of movies adapted from anime, usually because they end up getting ruined. A Kaiji/Akagi movie might be awesome. Preferably Kaiji because of the insane gambling. |

Canaan is one of my favorite anime, so I would LOVE to see an adaption of that. I feel like Japan would do it best, but I don't know many Japanese actors/actresses, so I don't know who I would want in it. Since Canaan is a pretty realistic anime, I feel like it would do well in an adaption because there wouldn't be many of those cheesy movie effects.
Then again, I haven't seen many anime movie adaptions, so I can't say for sure what it would look like.

Both are set in a real-to-life scenario, so that would be good. I think with todays technology and special effects an action movie would do well. I think the problem is with long storylines. anime like "bleach" or "naruto" would have trouble trying to cram soo much character development into 2 hours. Look at "the last airbender" movie (sooooo sad, love the cartoon, hated the movie). anime which have about 12 episodes or so at a time would do well I think.

Also, anything that demands a lot of special effects, like Bleach or Naruto, would inevitably be difficult to capture in real life with a limited budget and a huge and dedicated fanbase makes it harder for the movie to "do good" in the eyes of the anime/manga's fans. |
