So this is my anime blog! Wonderful, right? Here I mainly discuss the new airing shows but also might on occassion talk about some older show I watched or anime in general. Though I already kind of have this thread, the Anime Swordmanship thing, I thought it wouldn't hurt to make this also. And that thread is just for the reviews and discussion related to them anyway.
I will be regularly updating on what I have watched and what I thought.
Beginning with the summer 2015 shows I'm following:
Gangsta: A well-animated and surprisingly adult in a good way. Not "edgy" but instead quite subverted and imaginative. I haven't seen a deaf central character in anime before. Plus I can't tell which way the story is going to go. On my good side.
GATE: Jietai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri: A nice show that is essentially pure wish-fullfilment for all the otakus out there, including me. A little more realistic take on the fantasy world idea with a likable main character. Though there is a big possibility that this will end up being an unpleasant surprise, this is on my good side.
Bikini Warriors: Well, it wasn't advertized as a form of high art anyway... This might hurt.
Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Sen'eki: This anime has an adequate setup, tolerable characters, horrible costume designs and a super interesting twist, so I'm on the fence with this one.
Kuusen Madoushi Kouhousei no Kyoukan: A fighting academy anime. As if there aren't enough of those. At least this one takes place on the sky and stars a non-generic main character. The fanservice will get really grating, though, and cg is just all over the place. I'm giving this anime a chance to prove itself.
Overlord: A trapped-in-game-anime. Starring the big bad and his minions. Definitely on my good side, though this might change, depending on how certain questions are handled.
Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou: The first episode begins with the wimpy main character jacking off the main love interest's tail. This anime is made for scallies and I'm not one of those weirdos. Basically, in this wolrd there are now revealed to be these demihumans, sexy girls who are all part something else. The main love interest has a snake body hips down. This is grating.
Jitsu wa Watashi wa: This anime is about a guy who can't keep secrets discovering a secret he swears upon everything holy and pure to keep. His cute classmate is a vampire. There's this journalist chick who tries to force him to tell what's going on and that's the plot, I guess. I don't really know about this one.
Ushio to Tora: This random guy discovers that on his granpa's basement there is a beast and a spear. Then he grudgingly befriends the beast and begins fighting monsters with the spear. Quite cheesy, well-animated, so basically on my good side.
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime: This girl name Shirayuki (Snow-White in english) is a beautiful red-haired lady who almost gets made into bad prince's mistress, but then a good prince saves her and there be love. Innocent enough, I like this. And the comedy is fun too. On my good side.
Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX: Besides the strange name, I can't find too much fault in this one. I love Symphogear, and if done right, this season can be as good the previous two. *hype hype hype*
Rokka no Yuusha: The story of six heroes who have to fight a demon named Demon King. Besides the stupid and cliched setup, we have a bland character cast, awful clothes and the studio that made this constantly shoves unnecessary 3D into the viewers' faces. In the battle scenes, everything is constantly spinning around, and often even outisde of them. And the dialogue is made in such a way it feels like I have heard it three times after it is over. I hate this one, but will still watch. Maybe it gets better?
