Who here wanted to cry after reading the chapter 767 of One Piece? How is it that Oda can manage to make me care for someone who was introduced to the series as an already deceased character through a flashback? Killing off a character can create a rather big, and sometimes emotional, shock. However, to manage to bring out emotion in a death that's been expected is an entirely different matter. What great writing.

One Piece rocks! And it's the anime that got me into anime. The first anime I watched by myself, I mean. This is really good series and I love the mindlessness about the settings and world. Lot of the characters are also funny and interesting, sometimes even depressing or shocking. Simply put, I love this series for good reasons.

What great writing. I felt much the same way about Dr. Hiriluk in the Drum arc's flashback. The anime takes it even further with the addition of a bit of classical music on top of the Doctor's death scene. I think Oda has a particular talent for letting you know what's coming and, rather than lament at being predictable, you eagerly anticipate seeing it coming. A lot of his arc's follow a formula but rather than think "oh here's the flashback, now we get some fighting." you think "Soon as the flashback's done things are gonna get awesome!"

Th best by far is either Film Z or Strong World as they involved Oda directly, the worst I think is the 3D mugiwara chase one. I couldn't handle it
