This is a thread to debate the pros and cons of both! Here's my say
Mac is easier for students because of ilife programs such as iphoto and imovie, and PCs are better for professionals with more flexibility. However, with the introduction of bootcamp, windows can now be used on Mac hardware without the need for a PC.

Yeah, I agree with that statement. Macs make things simpler too, which I like, and I feel like they're faster than PCs. On the other hand, there are more programs that cater to PCs that trump some of Apple's bad knock-offs. I have a Mac for the sole reason that I'm too impatient to re-learn how to use a PC.

Depends what you need it for, or prefer.
That is a pretty one dimensional statement. What if you're an accounting student or a programming student?
The argument against this is surely that, as a student I use the software that runs on my imac, say imovie, so I'm probably going to get a job doing the same thing, so wouldn't I continue to use a mac as a professional?
I have had an iMac for a number of years, I like it but it doesn't run any video games and it has a limited number of programs. I have a laptop with Windows 7 I like that as well.

PC
Coding, designing and editing is much more easier with the number of programming softwares available for PC. About Mac hardware itself, it's too fixed that you can't fully customize your whole PC from CPU to keycaps. It is much expensive than PC too.
The display properties weren't as customizable as PC too, especially changing APIs and desktop gadgets. It is user friendly for elder people to use too.
PC is for more customization and for design/coding users while Mac is for students devoted in writing, fine arts and research.
