Soooo. Digimonstory: Cybersleuth has been dated with a March 12th release in japan. The game artwork is being provided by Suzuhito Yasuda, who worked on the Devil survivor games, the Durarara!! Anime(!), and Digimon World Re:Digitize. The official bandai namco site is being updated with details and screenshots occasionally. The story we know, is this so far: "The Protagonist gets curious after hearing rumors of hackers in the streets, and one day receives a device named "Digimon Capture" from someone he/she met in an online chat room, then travels to the lowest layer of Cyberspace to gauge the rumor. But because of a sudden malfunction in the system, part of his/her mental data is corrupted, resulting in his/her body becoming a half-digitized Data Body. The Protagonist then awakens with the special ability Connect Jump, which allows he/she to travel between the Real World and Cyberspace EDEN through terminals." The game appears to use a rather traditional turn-based form of combat. No word on English localization yet, but it's entirely possible that it won't ever happen. The last 5 digimon games released in Japan haven't been localized yet even, but there's hope to be had. Any thoughts on this game? Any fans of the digimon games out there? Me personally, I'm in love with the art style, and enjoy my turn-based RPGs. So I'm definitely hoping this gets localized. Always in need of more games for my vita!
