Decided to review Deadman Wonderland. Also trying a different way to organize my review so I hope you like it. Spoilers Ahead
Plot
The plot dragged me in fast with the early action. Ganta's whole class is slaughtered while for some reason he isn't and he gets the blame for it all. I do find that part highly unlikely in a real world situation though, but moving on. He gets sent to "Deadman Wonderland". At Deadman Wonderland they do challenges to amuse the public and have to eat a certain candy every three days or they will die due to a collar around their neck. During the series we learn Ganta has a power the use the blood from his body as a weapon. The story gets more interesting as Ganta learns there are many people with this same ability and all the people with this ability (nicknamed Deadman) have to fight to see who gets money and who has to be dealt punishment. My biggest issue was the ending. This anime was so amazing and I loved it so much. Although any amazing anime can go down hill with a bad ending. It felt like the ending didn't explain somethings and I started to question if there was even plot to begin since it left multiple unanswered questions.
Characters
There were interesting characters as well. Starting with the main character Ganta was a cry baby for the whole series and had multiple issues that he could not run from. Although I do get that he had a lot of struggles earlier in the series with his whole class murdered and him being accused of the crime, but eventually I thought he would stop whining about it. Next character is Shiro. The main feature that was cool (besides having an awesome female main character) was the fact that she did add some stress relief to this very dark/mature themes. There ware multiple supporting characters in this series and I do like how it gave us a good understanding of each and this made them interesting. Although I wish some supporting characters got a little more time in it.
Other Notes:
Just some other notes. I did like the animation of this show a lot. The action scenes were nice. Also I watched the English Dubbed version and the voice actors did there roles extremely good. I loved hearing some familiar voices. This series is also incredibly dark and mature and I loved that feature of it.
Conclusion:
This series is suited mainly for people who don't mind seeing a darker story. I really wish this would get a sequel, but at this point I don't think it will come which is sad since the series had an improper ending. In the end I rate this series a 8/10 which is a bit high considering this series had an awful ending. The main reason I rated it that high i just the fact that I liked everything so much till the end. This is just my opinion and personal preference, but I enjoyed it so much. The plot holes really mess it up from being something completely amazing although as I've stated before I enjoyed this series so much anyway (well at least before the last episode).
